In bleak 1980s London, privileged young film student Julie aspires to make films depicting the harsh realities of Thatcher’s Britain. When she meets a mysterious man named Anthony who appears to be deeply interested in Julie’s ambitions, the two begin a tempestuous love affair. Ignoring her friends, Julie borrows large amounts of money from her parents to hand over to Anthony, and soon finds herself dangerously exposed.
