Boyz N The Hood

Set against the backdrop of early 80s South Central LA, the film follows three young African-American men trying to navigate life in a community ravaged by drug addiction, poverty, gangs and police harassment. Powerful in performance and message, the late Singleton’s seminal film helped launch a new generation of black filmmakers in the US, and remains as urgent and relevant as ever.
