For anyone who wants to write for the screen, this course takes you from ideas to final script to getting it made. You’ll be introduced to the skills of screenwriting, how to generate ideas, create structure, character, dialogue and plot devices – not forgetting how to write a film synopsis and treatment.

This is a practical course, which may involve writing a script, synopsis, or treatment in your own time. However, there's no pressure to write anything and when we go through the ideas as a group during sessions, there's a lot to learn through the feedback and progress of others.

Please note, there may be some crossover between this course and our Film School and Film Editing courses, but all within its own context.

The course will be led by Keith Allott, an award-winning narrative, documentary and abstract filmmaker with his own production company, Badshoes Film.

Tutor: Keith Allott
Duration: 9 weeks (8 teaching weeks + final networking session on Wed 3 Dec)
When: Monday evenings from Mon 6 Oct, 6.30pm – 9pm (no session Mon 17 Nov, final teaching session Mon 1 Dec).
