La Bola Negra

A genre-defying queer epic inspired by the unfinished play of the same name by Spanish writer Federico García Lorca, La Bola Negra intertwines the stories of three men whose lives are intimately connected across three different eras in Spain.

Rich with Lorca's poetry and suffused with desire, grief and hope, it is an intimate love story tangled up in the tragedy of the Spanish Civil War, and a sweeping exploration of memory, inheritance and queer history, honouring those whose lives and loves were too often forced into silence.
