Chris and his girlfriend Rose go upstate to visit her parents for the weekend. Although they seem normal at first, he is not prepared to experience the horrors ahead. Jordan Peele’s modern classic critiques ‘liberal racism’ and colour-blindness, tackling fetishisation and exploitative attitudes toward Black culture. Daniel Kaluuya’s Chris is invited but not accepted.

Get Out references W.E.B. Du Bois’s concept of “twoness”, referring to double-consciousness and the internal psychological conflict of constantly looking at oneself through the eyes of a racist white society, forcing Black Americans to reconcile their identities as both Black and American.
