Learn the vital and exciting behind-the-scenes skills to put on your own film screening!

Build Your Own Film Night is a sequence of curated specialist sessions devised by Flatpack, to provide you with the essential skills and knowledge to curate and host your own pop-up film event!

The sessions will creatively and extensively cover the best approach in research and curation, accessibility, and complementary events, the nitty gritty on licensing and copyright, choosing the right venues and procuring technical requirements, building your brand with PR and promotion, event production, managing your budget, recruiting volunteers, and health and safety.

Over the course of several weeks, Build Your Own Film Night will be held online and in-person, and participants must be able to attend the listed dates and times below.

Industry professionals will join us throughout the duration to share all their useful intel.

Session information as follows:
• Thursday 30th September, from 6-8PM at Broadway
• Thursday 7th October, from 7-8PM online
• Thursday 14th October, from 6-8PM at Broadway
• Thursday 21st October, from 7-8PM online
• Thursday 28th October, from 7-8PM online
• Thursday 4th November, from 7-8PM online
• Thursday 11th November, from 6-8PM at Broadway

BFI FILM ACADEMY: LABS

Labs are events for young filmmakers to gain industry insight, get professional advice and support to develop their own filmmaking practices. They are delivered as practical masterclasses, workshops, and networking sessions.
