In 1980s Leningrad, newcomer Viktor hopes to break onto the underground rock scene. Local rock star Mayk takes him under his wing, but as the two grow closer – chain-smoking over banned records from Bowie and Lou Reed – tensions also arise as they clash over politics, influences and the love of Mayk’s wife. Based on the true story of Viktor Tsoi, LETO is a nostalgic tribute to a time when all that mattered was the music and those who made it.

Caroline Ridler from the University of Nottingham will introduce this screening.
