Broadway to host acclaimed director Gurinder Chadha

Broadway will welcome acclaimed director Gurinder Chadha on Saturday 4 March for a screening of her latest film, Viceroy’s House, followed by an on-stage Q&A.

Gurinder Chadha (Bhaji on the Beach, Bend It Like Beckham) will be in conversation with Broadway’s Programme Director, Caroline Hennigan, on Saturday 4 March, following the 2.45PM screening of Viceroy’s House. Starring Hugh Bonneville and Gillian Anderson, Viceroy’s House, recounts the final months of the British rule in India in 1947, as conflict erupts between the political elite in charge of the future of the country and the hundreds of Hindu, Muslim and Sikh servants who also share the last Viceroy’s house. A deeply personal film for Gurinder Chadha, Viceroy’s House examines those events through the prism of both a marriage and a romance, as the lovers find themselves caught up in the seismic end of an Empire and the Partition of India.

Broadway is extremely proud to welcome such an acclaimed and original filmmaker. Gurinder Chadha is an incredibly important voice in the British film and TV landscape and we can’t wait to share her new film with our audience.” says Caroline Hennigan, Broadway’s Programme Director.

Gurinder Chadha will be at Broadway, Nottingham on Saturday 4 March for a screening of Viceroy’s House with Q&A at 2.45PM. For more information and to book tickets please contact Broadway’s box office on 0115 952 6611, or visit
