The Created Woman

Mayhem presents ‘The Created Woman’ - A three-day journey into Sci-Fi with film screenings, events and discussions.

Mayhem Film Festival in collaboration with Film Hub Central East and the BFI’s nationwide Sci-Fi programme ‘Days of Fear and Wonder’ bring you a new perspective on Sci-Fi with a season of Sci-Fi classics and some under-the-radar gems. A chance to revisit and discover films old and new, and to explore some of the ideas that those brave new worlds were reflecting back to us.

As well as screening a diverse range of Sci-Fi titles the season will offer an opportunity to review and re-assess ideas of the created woman. A range of contributors including costume designers, writers and filmmakers alongside the Mayhem team will give bespoke introductions to each screening, sharing their passion for Sci-Fi and discussing ideas of the created woman.

Broadway's Lounge Cinema will be transformed into the Sci-Fi Salon, hosting a series of free screenings of cult classics and Sci-Fi gems.

With a special ticket price of £5 for each cinema screening and free screenings and events in the Sci-Fi Salon we hope that you’ll join us on our Sci-Fi journey. See you in the cinema!
