A recent surprise hit in France, the delectable comedy Romantics Anonymous tells the story of Angélique, an unemployed but gifted chocolate-maker with a lifelong case of uncontrollable shyness. Jean-René suffers from a similar case of terminal abashment and runs a fledgling chocolate company in desperate need of a new direction. When Jean-René hires Angélique, the two nervous Nellies must face their deepest fears. Director Améris teases out the fairy-tale quality of this timid romance while grounding the film's charm and spirit firmly in its lovable and authentic protagonists. Tribecca Film Festival

Very enjoyable. I can be a sucker for a rom-com but wasn't expecting that much from Romantics Anonymous. But it was a delight. Light and predictable in many ways but a great antidote to schlocky tired Hollywood fare and FULL of surprising laughs

What a wonderful film. Fantastically quirky characters and that bit of feel-good factor that January cries out for. My bag of revels didn't feel quite the same whilst watching fine Belgian chocs!
