Arbitrage - 3/5:

Arbitrage (noun) : The simultaneous purchase and sale of an asset in order to profit from a difference in the price.

Richard Gere was nominated for a Best Actor Golden Globe for this tense drama about a wealthy hedge-fund manager who struggles to cope with the stress of the fraudulent sale of his business and his affair with a French art dealer.

Pursued by Tim Roth's unorthodox NYPD detective, his life begins to spiral out of control as he desperately tries to keep his high profile persona from falling apart.

An assured directorial debut from Nicholas Jarecki, it is the blistering turn from Gere and wife Susan Sarandon that elevates this above your average Hollywood drama, gripping, enigmatic and with an ending that is sure to get you talking.
