Join Director Sarmad Masud for our first filmmakers’ masterclass - Directing Drama for the Screen. This workshop is aimed at filmmakers looking to further their professional development. The opportunity is open to all filmmakers with some prior experience, including graduate media students and self-taught individuals.
Topics covered: working with a script as a director, saying the right thing – the language of film sets, tips for working with crew and practical hands-on sessions working with professional actors.

Sarmad Masud
A 2017 Screen International Star of Tomorrow, his first feature MY PURE LAND, set in Pakistan and based on the extraordinary true story of one woman and her family who defended their home and land from 200 bandits, premiered at Edinburgh International Film Festival and was the UK submission to the Oscars in the Foreign Language category. Sam’s short; TWO DOSAS, funded by Film London was voted best film in their London Calling Plus category and picked up numerous awards on the festival circuit. Sam also wrote and directed ADHA CUP, the first Urdu language drama commissioned by Channel Four.
