Child-trafficking survivors Sheetal and Saraswoti are rescued from a corrupt Indian circus and brought back to Nepal, to a community they barely remember and struggle to reconnect with. With 11 other young trafficking survivors, they form Circus Kathmandu, Nepal’s first and only circus. This intimate and beautiful film is an ode to survival and the healing power of performance. - BFI

Anna Strickland from Missing Link will be joining us for a post-screening Q&A, in conversation with Amelia Watkins.

Anna Strickland is the UK Director of Operations for Circus Kathmandu. She runs an entertainers' agency in the UK for circus performers called Missing Link, and run the Youth Programme for Mimbre, who use circus to build bonds with young people on estates in London who are at risks of gangs. Anna is also starting up a new project called Circus for Survivors, which is using trapeze and acrobatics and dance as a direct response to the #MeToo campaign and using physical movement to help women reclaim their bodies.
