This film is absolutely depressing and comes as a short story about emotional loss. Some people complain about the missing background, but this is the films strength. It is McQueen's idea of a film and it works perfectly. Fassbender and Mulligan are outstanding. Probably one of the best films this/last year.
A good film and sweet look back to the 1920s. But the story is not very deep, not very special. Sure, the actors are very good and the dog is very cute, but the big surprise is missing. It is a bit too long - but has great sonic moments.
The beginning is rather weak as the film is low budget, but the second half turns it into a very good film. Especially the ending was one of some very good, intense scenes.
A good ghost story which was not new at all, but the cast was good and some twists were interesting. As a fan of good film endings I have to admit that this ending was very well chosen for the end of the plot.
I think brilliant films have an outstanding ending, an extraordinary score and a great leading actor. Take Shelter is such a film. One of the best films of the year.
This is a very strong and good film about campaigning in the US and how bad people really are. The cast is incredible, first of all a tremendously brilliant Ryan Gosling.
I was really happy after leaving the cinema, because The Theatre Bizarre was a compilation of the best ideas to find in a horror film. It was gory, strange, balanced, extreme, surreal and … bizarre. Go and watch it if you can. It is worth the money. http://www.furiouscinema.com/2011/10/short-reviews-the-theatre-bizarre-ma..

I'Ve seen this film some years ago and found it really good, but now, living in Nottingham, it is a different experience. I still really like the film, but seeing the locations beeing right outside my window (almost) is incredible.
An extraordinary, strong and impressive movie with two absolutely incredible main actors. I haven't (almost) seen such a great debut as a director as what Paddy Considine did here. Really realistic, very shocking - this is great cinema.
I wouldn't say I was blown away, but I surely liked the film. The story reminds indeed of Elmore Leonard, but the way how it is told is a kind of new experience. Ryan Gosling is incredible as the Man with no name (for sure a reference to Eastwood), who also reminded me of the young Steve McQueen and Kurt Russel as Stuntman Mike. It is worth watching!
This film is actually more about the abyss of mankind (family) and the instincts of the people (woman) than a "normal" horror movie. It does not have the big frightening moments, but is both bloody and very shocking. It has only few places in it, but this is surely enough to build a special tension and to draw an odd american family.

Really good and both entertaining and sad film. Michel Piccoli gets at least 3 of the stars for his outstanding acting.

One of the weirdest movies I've ever seen. Cheap, weak, lame. However: it's been much much fun. Nothing to think about.

Another good Woody Allen film - a pretty light but amusing flick with a very good Owen Wilson and the best Adrien Brody I've ever seen.

Basicly told criminal story, often a little bit confusing, but with a very great (and surprisingly old) Gary Oldman!
