1.00pm
VAMPYR (PG)
- Carl Dreyer
Julian West, Maurice Schutz (1932, France/Germany)
A dreamlike and surreal masterpiece from one of the most important
filmmakers in cinema. Digitally remastered Vampyr is a major
influence on the films of Guillermo Del Toro (Pan's Labyrinth)
and is rarely seen on the big screen.
"One of the four or five greatest horror films, but also… one of
the greatest films ever made."
Combustible Celluloid.

3.00pm
BLACK SABBATH (15)
- Mario Bava
Boris Karloff, Mark Damon. (1963, Italy)
Rare and restored cult classic - three terrifying tales of terror
from the master of the macabre, Mario Bava (BLOOD AND BLACK LACE,
KILL BABY KILL). Mixing vampirism, the Giallo thriller and a truly
shocking climax Black Sabbath is a lurid and truly original piece
of cinema - must be seen to be believed.

5.30pm
SALVAGE (18)
- with director Lawrence Gough. Special Preview Screening
Neve McIntosh, Shaun Dooley. (2008 UK)
When
a container washes ashore the residents of a sleepy cul de sac are
plunged into violence, terror and paranoia. Ring fenced by the military
a single mother must overcome all the odds to save her daughter.
A tightly terrifying ride, reminiscent of early George Romero and
claustrophobically tense, Salvage is brilliantly performed
by the cast including Neve McIntosh (Bodies) and Dooley (Eden
Lake). A great, original British debut.
"A corker!"
James Christopher THE TIMES
Salvage will be introduced by our special guest, director
Lawrence Gough.

7.30pm
MAYHEM FILM QUIZ
A chance to test your knowledge of all things fear film. And win
something!
9.00pm
MARTYRS (18)
- Pascal Laugier. Preview Screening
Morjana Alaoui, Mylene Jampanoi. (2008 France)
One of the most controversial and most talked about films of the
century. A young woman's quest for vengeance against those who abused
her as a child uncovers something far more sinister than she ever
imagined. Martyrs is a harsh horror film, but a truly original
one, one sure to create as much argument as it is praise and as
such it's not be missed by any fan of the genre.
"The new yard stick against which all forms of extreme genre films
should be measured against." shocktillyoudrop.com
